June 2016 Recital Information
We are making plans for our 2016 Recital, and we are looking forward to our students' participation! The recital is optional, but highly recommended.
Recital time is very exciting for us as the directors, as it is for the teachers, parents and students. We will do our best to keep you informed of everything that is happening. With your enthusiasm and cooperation, we know that our 2016 recital will give us all cherished memories to last a lifetime. The recital theme has been selected, but will remain a secret for now, in keeping with over 65 years of tradition at Charmette Academy of Dance.
As the recital approaches, please watch your email and this site for additional information. We recommend that you keep a copy of each recital letter that you receive via email to make sure you always have easy access to the details.

Parent Informational Meeting
The Parent Informational Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 3rd, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the studio. We are holding this on a Sunday so that it will not interfere with normal class times. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
The meeting should last approximately one hour. To ensure that you are able to pay close attention to the important information presented, please do not bring children to the meeting.
All students, including high school dancers, must have a parent or guardian present for this meeting. Important details about the recital will be covered, such as: costume information, recital fees, tickets, dress rehearsal, photographs, and videos.
Announcement and Measurement
All costume information will be presented for all classes at the meeting. We will be measuring students for costume sizes in December.
Cost and Payment
The approximate cost per costume ranges from $72 to $110. The studio must pay for costumes at the time the orders are placed, so timely payment is extremely important. Orders may take from 12 to 16 weeks to arrive. You may pay at the informational meeting, and all costume fees must be paid in full by January 9th.
To ensure that costumes arrive on time, all costumes must be paid in full no later than Saturday, January 9th, in order for the student to participate in the recital. We will not be placing orders for costumes if payment has not been made. If we do not receive payment by the due date, we will assume that your child is not participating in the 2016 recital, as no costume will be ordered.
Performance Dates and Times
We will be holding two performances. Some classes may be in both performances. The recital dates are:
Wednesday, June 15th at 6pm and Thursday, June 16th at 6pm

The dress rehearsals for the performances will be held at the Affton High School Auditorium on Tuesday, June 14th. Schedule details for the rehearsals will be added as the recital approaches.
The recital fee is $150 per family, and helps pay for the theater rental, security at the venue, custodians, props, lighting, printing, and technical crew expenses. With this fee, you will receive:
- 1 Memory Program for each student
- 1 performer ticket
- 1 parent/guardian ticket
- 4 additional tickets
- 1 recital t-shirt for each student
Additional programs will be available for sale at the recital for $5 each.
The recital fee is payable now, and must be paid in full no later than Friday, April 15th. Recital fees may be included on the same check as tuition or costume fees. If you choose to combine payments, please make a note on the check that the recital fee is included.
Some classes will perform both nights. If your child is in both performances, you will still pay only one recital fee. You will receive the same number of tickets to each performance.
You may still reserve extra tickets for Recital beyond the performer, guardian and 4 per show that you receive. They are $12 per ticket and can be paid for upon pickup in June. Recital photographs will be taken at Charmette Academy of Dance on a weekend in the middle/end of May. More information will follow. Proofs will be shown at the dress rehearsal on June 14th in the lobby of the Affton High School auditorium.
Additional Recital Shirts
You can order additional recital shirts for friends and family by visiting this link. Remember that this is not for students dancing in the recital. They will receive one, which was included in the Recital Fee. Child Sizes are $15, Adult Sizes are $17, AXL are $21. These are due and must be paid for by this Sunday, May 22nd. They will be charged into your Studio Director account if you wish to pay them online.
Note that our program this year will be a vertical 8.5" × 11" program book. These can be from family, friends or businesses.
