From a young age, Marissa has been passionate about movement and performance. She began dancing at 3 years old and added gymnastics to her training at age 5. In middle school, she discovered her love for cheerleading, which quickly became a central part of her athletic and performance journey.

Marissa spent several years training and competing in a variety of dance styles at the Academy of Fine Arts in Columbia, MO, before shifting her focus to classical ballet at Halcyone Perlman. Her dedication to both technique and artistry laid a strong foundation for her future in both dance and cheer.

At the University of Missouri-Columbia, Marissa was a member of the cheerleading team for four years and proudly served as team captain. During her college summers, she worked with the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), teaching cheerleading camps and leading stunt clinics throughout the region.

Marissa has enjoyed watching her daughter, Lola’s passion for dance and competition flourish at Charmette. She is excited to help students grow in skill, confidence, and passion.
