Mary Grace was born and raised in St. Louis where she grew up dancing competitively. During her senior year of high school, she attended Webster University for a semester training under Xi “Cecillia” Zhao, Michael Uthoff, and Maggi Dueker.

After high school, Mary Grace attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York where she trained in Cunningham, Limón, Graham, Horton, Butoh, Gaga, Nikolais, O’Donnell, Taylor, Improvisation, Composition, and many other techniques/styles. During her time at Marymount, she performed works by Crystal Pite, Andrea Miller, Jose Limón, and Ohad Naharin. In New York, she was also fortunate to be featured in an original work choreographed by Jenn Freeman for the Steps on Broadway Choreographer’s Showcase.

In addition to her training at Marymount, Mary Grace attended numerous intensives and workshops, working with choreographers such as Sidra Bell, Sonya Tayeh and AnoukVan Dijk. She graduated Marymount May 2023 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Shortly after graduating she began a master’s in education from Lindenwood University. In addition to dancing and performing, Mary Grace has a large passion for teaching and choreography. She has set numerous works around the St. Louis area, as well as other studios around the country. Her body of work aims to encompass her past, present, and future while drawing inspiration from vigor, tenacity, and dynamic range.

In addition to teaching at Charmette Academy of dance, Mary Grace teaches dance for MADCO, Renee Johnson’s Dance Studio and Webster University. She’s also worked with Columbia City Jazz in South Carolina, Spotlight
